Does anyones kids have no other kids to play with?
Does anyone else's children not have any kids to play with?
I feel so bad for Megan. She doesnt have ANY other kids to play with EVER. In our neighborhood, there are hardly any kids her age and I live in Queens which makes it hard to get together with friends from here. I play with her constantly and so does my mom and sister (they see her every day) but its just not the same.
Yesterday we visited my old job which is a preschool. At first, she was so quiet and shy that my heart was breaking because she just held on to me. But after about a half hour, she ran to the kids, played with them, even formed a "choo choo train" that they all had a ball with. Then when I saw her playing so nicely, that made my heart break too..because she doesnt have any little friends and she obviously LOVED being around the other kids.
I am going to look into some kind of kiddie class for her for September. She will be 2 in August so I dont want her in school just yet but something where she can socialize with other kids. I just thought that being with us was enough for her for now but I am so wrong. It just hut me so much that I am not able to (at the moment) give her a better neighborhood with kids and activities to live in.
Anyone else go through this??

Andrew has cousins that he plays with but they are a little older then him. Other then that, that is it.

We have friends that have kids but they don't live in our neighborhood so we don't get to see them often. There are older kids on the block that always high five my son when they see him but they are older like 9 and 10 so they can't play with my 2 year old much.
I was thinking of getting him into some kiddie class thing as well...

We live in an apartment in Chicago with no other kids for Lily to play with and we live far from our friends who have kids around her age. We are looking to move into a neighborhood in the suburbs that has lots of kids. Hopefully we'll be moving out there by the fall. We used to belong to a playgroup, but it disolved.  I am planning on signing her up for a mommy & me-type class that starts at the end of the month because I really do feel she needs to be around other kids. Usually she is very social though. When we do see other kids she goes right up to play with them, but I'm afraid she'll get shy if we aren't around other kids soon. I totally know what you mean. I feel bad that she isn't around any other kids. I know she would love it.

When I was young all the kids in the neighborhood were older, my cousins were mostly older.
This was before the time of daycare and moms doing lots of play dates and classes.
So at 2.5/3 my mom put me in nursery school.
I am now more social than most of my friends....

I noticed the other day walking that their were alot of kids around my dds age.. but i dont know the parents. My nephew is a month younger than my dd but he lives 45 mins away.. and with gas prices it just to far.

My kids are the first in the family and of all our friends, so they have nobody. All the kids in my neighborhood are a lot older. Thank God they are only 15 months apart so they can play together!
