Does blocking someone on FB prevent them from sending you private messages?

Does blocking someone on FB prevent them from sending you private messages?
The person I blocked is NOT on my friends' list. I did not accept her friend request.
She has sent me an obnoxious private message. So I blocked her email address under privacy settings.
The FB text says: "Once you block someone, that person can no longer be your friend on Facebook or interact with you (except within apps and games you both use and groups you are both a member of)."
None of those are the case.
--Does anyone know if this will prevent her messages from coming through to my inbox?
--Also, we have mutual friends.....can she still see my comments on their pages?

Does blocking someone on FB prevent them from sending you private messages?
She cannot send you messages. Even if you have mutual friends you will be invisible to that person.

If you block that person completely they see nothing of you, not even on another friends page, They also cannot send you messages because to them you no longer exist on FB. If you changed certain restrictions for that person through your privacy settings than they still can see you on FB in some cases.
