Does/Did anyone else's DC pull your hair out when you are putting them to sleep?
DD is almost one(next week!) and I still am rocking her to sleep. She has always tugged on my hair a little, but lately she is actually ripping it out as she falls asleep..like very agressively...I cant take it anymore...any suggestions?? She also does this to my hair at other times of the day and actually checks her hand to see if she got any!! Then I tell her no, but when Im putting her to sleep she is doing it half asleep so I dont know how to stop it.

I read somewhere that this was a soothing mechanism. I'm not sure why she does it harder now though. Maybe she's testing you? DD is a little over a year and I'm finding that she is seeing how far she can get with some things.

Ouch! My DD does this too and to be honest ponytails and especially buns are my best friends.

My son is 18 months, and I know when he is ready to go to sleep because he starts playing with my hair.

DS used to do that more than now, but when I used to sit with him and give him his bedtime bottle he woudl just play with and pull at his hair, one time he pulled out a clump of hair! Now he is too busy to sit still so he doesnt pull out his hair, but I can always tell when he is sleepy as he starts playing with his hair!
