Does East Meadow or Bellmore have good school districts?
We're looking for a home for our little family...we're concerned about school districts, raising a family, the community, etc...anything you can share with me?

We bought in Bellmore because of the school district. Due to DH's job, we are moving out of state Oct. 1st, but we researched Bellmore and it is a very good district.

We looked in Merrick/Bellmore/Wantagh because of the school districts.

I live in east meadow and the school district is good. Wouldn't have bought a house here if it wasn't

Bellmore is combined with Merrick for the Merrick/Bellmore school district which is very good. Depending on location would depend on which school you go to. They have 3 sections that they break the schools into. All are very good. Some have better elementary then middle. Others have better high schools.

Bellmore/merrick sd is amazing i grew up in bellmore and schools were great. just moved back to bellmore after moving to the northshore 8 yrs ago now that we have DD, i want her to be in the bellmore schools!!

MY dh teaches in East Meadow school district at Bowling Green(elementary) and Clarke High School (much smaller than east meadow high school) He went to Clarke as well... He loves the district!!!

I went to school in Bellmore Merrick school district and it was a great district. If I lived on LI, I would want my kids to go there.

My daughter goes to Bowling Green ! She's in 5th grade.
To answer the OP question, this is our 3rd school year in Bowling Green and am very happy with the teachers and school overall. She will be heading to Clark next year and I am comfortable with that school already because I have heard nothing but good things about it from people I know who have kids there or graduated from there themselves.
Clarke JHS and HS kids come from Bowling Green and Meadowbrook elementary schools. The other 3 elementary schools (McVey, Barnum Woods and Parkway) go to Woodland JHS and then East Meadow HS.
