Does it usually take a newborn a while to like their "gear?"
This child hates everything. Swing, bouncey seat, bjourn, sling (depending on her mood).
I may just resort to the Tonka truck from now on

Yup, she hated everything for a while. She wanted to be held ALL of the time. That changed around 8 weeks or so.

Same here, except it was about 6 weeks for DD. When she started looking around more we took that as a sign she was ready and at that point she loved her bouncy and swing but not for more than 20-30 minutes.

Thank goodness, hopefully she will want to explore them more in a few weeks

DS liked the swing right away, but it took him a while to loike the bouncy. As he got older I would put him in the excersaucer- that thing turned out to be a huge waste of money and space, he never liked it.

My DS is 7 weeks and he didn't hate his bouncy and swing but he didn't love it...i think it was b/c he was uncomfortable...he was always so squirmy in it. Now that he is getting bigger he can tolerate both better/longer.

DD loved her Papasan seat, though she hasn't used it much lately...
She still doesn't really like her swing at 10 weeks...She'd rather be in her car seat or laying on her jungle gym mat...

Same here! My DD now loves her bouncy seat and the newborn-toddler rocker. She's not in love with her swing, but she'll go in it for short periods of time now.

Same for me. It was my arms from 9am to 9pm until DS was 8 weeks. Must be a "magic" number!!!

It took a while for DS to like the swing. He got used to the toddler/rocker a little quicker.

My DS hated everything - screamed his head off for three months. Eventually he liked the infant carrier and spent most waking and sleeping moments in it!!!
