Does LIPA have a doorbell ring policy?
I look out my backyard window to see some strange guy back there! It was the LIPA guy. I guess they were reading the meter but I'd appreciate a ring of the bell before the just help themselves in! Grr!

I don't think so. It would probably make their day go much longer if they had to ring the doorbell for every house they had to visit.

We actually asked the guy since I saw hin actually opening the gate of our fence and what would happen is the gate was locked.
He said they would schedule a time then.

Now what happens when they go in your yard unannounced and they get attacked by your dog? Its the homeowners fault or the "breeds" fault. UGGGHHH. Im with you 100%. No one should go in your yard without your permission.

9 times out of 10 the dog will start barking before anyone even enters. The dog would pick the scent up.
And I betcha if you look at the fine print on your LIPA agreement it will say that LIPA has the right to enter your property to read the meter.
