Does rain cause a dog to lose their scent to pick a spot to pee/poop?
I notice after rain, it takes my dog longer than usual to find an area to do her business. Is this because of the rain washing away scents?

My dog always goes in the same spot, but I notice that she walks slower with her nose to the ground and I think its because the rain brings up a lot of new smells.

This is exactly what I was going to say. The rain brings about TONS of new smells that you or I couldn't even imagine. So I think they are just preoccupied with all the new information coming in.
