Does this sound like a good idea or is it nuts?
We might go for a week or more this summer with my mom and maybe my bil and sis to visit my aunt in colorado (near denver). I was thinking the really oppressive thing about going to Disneyland is the long flight, so you an't just go there for a few days...HOWEVER, if we're already going to colorado, I thought maybe we could leave for 3 days go to CA, and then come bacK to CO? Either that or we could go to CA first and meet my mom in CO or go to CA after CO and fly back from CO. What do you think? it's probbaly only a 2 hour flight from CO to LA, right?
Is this insane or good?
FH and I REALLY wanted to go to Disneyland this year for the Happiest Homecoming on Earth, but we didn't think it would be possible. This seems like maybe it'll be ok because it was really the airfare that was oppressive.
Also, is it rude to leave a visit with my aunt?

That sounds like something I would try to make happen...the airfares are absolutely insane right now and if you are that close it's definitely worth investigating. I don't know how your mother or aunt would be about leaving early or for part of the visit but I don't see anything so bad about it.

I don't think either of them would mind at all. My mom knows how much I want to go to DL, and I'm really close with my aunt and she's a relaly go with the flow person but I don't want to make some huge faux pas. Plus she has kids, so I don't want to make them jealous. Then again when we went to see FH's realtives in FL we left right from there for a week in WDW, so I guess it's not so bad, you do what you've gotta do
Do you mena arifares are insanely high ir insanely low> I haven't looked up any

Maybe you can get a flight like this - NY-Denver-Disney-NY
We went LI-Atlanta-JFK on our HM. Worked out better on the airfare.

Do it! Nobody will mind, and you'll kick yourselves if you don't. DH & I have to go to a wedding in vegas, but we wanted to go to CA, so we're going to Los Angeles for two days, going to Vegas for two days, and then going to San Fran for five days (up to the wine country). Make the most of your trip. Who knows when you'll be back. Your family members will definitely understand. I do this all the time when I visit my parents in Florida, and others around the country. Have fun!
