Does this sound like a lot to you?
I had to get my BM dress altered and decided to take it to my own tailor. The dress had to be shortened and taken in, in a few places which means the zipper has to come out. I am paying $70 for this (originally they wanted 85) obviously there is nothing I can do now but that sounds like a lot to me. What do you think?

I don't think that's bad either. Had you gone to a bridal boutique, it would have been waaayyy more!

I paid $65 at the local dry cleaner tailor.... I had very little done, so that sounds about right.

Sounds about right: it always becomes more expensive when they need to resew the zipper.

Re: Does this sound like a lot to you?
I remeber get a dress altered at David's Bridal & it cost more than the dress. I think it was around $125-$150 to have it hemmed, the waist taken in, the sides of the top taken in (it was a 2 peice), and the straps shortened, and this was 10 years ago!

I don't think it is a lot. I have paid a lot of money on dresses to have them altered.

Macy's wanted to charge my MOH $150 when I got married 4 years ago. She wound up not getting it altered there. $70 sounds pretty good.

No, I think that sounds pretty good. Last time I was a bridesmaid I paid either $125 or $150, at the bridal suite.
