Does time of day matter?

We BD'd Wednesday evening (7:00 pm), Thursday morning (8:30 am), and plan on doing it again tonight before we go to bed (before midnight). Is that too much time in b/w, even though it's still 3 days in a row after the surge?

If you got your positive Wednesday at 3pm, you should have O'd some time between 3am Thursday morning and 3 pm Friday afternoon (if we go by the "you O 12-36 hours after getting a + OPK" rule).

So, with that in mind, I definitely think your times were good!!! Chat Icon

Ooh wait, my calculations were wrong (early morning brain, lol).

If you got your + OPK on Wednesday at 3pm, then following the 12-36 hour "rule", you would have O'd some time between 3am Thursday and 3 AM Friday morning, not afternoon. Just wanted to clear that up, but doesn't change that I think you BD'd the right times.

As long as it doesn't change anything!! I have heard 48 hours as well. How long does the egg live for?

Honestly, one time a day is sufficient. Even every other day would be ok if you had to. The reasoning is to give your DH time to build up the sperm count. BDing twice a day is just about the same as BDing once a day. Unless you guys prefer it that way, you really don't have to.

I was BDing every other day before the + OPK, so hopefully I covered all bases. Last month I didn't BD 3 days in a row when I got the surge, b/c I fell asleep. But I have now realized the small percentage of possibility each month. I am thinking positive though!! Too early on in TTC to get discouraged.
