Does TTC consume anyone elses thoughts? - updated
Lately I have not been able to sleep well because I keep dreaming/thinking about TTC and this whole process. I think about it ALL day and ALL night. I just can't stop. I don't know what to do with myself to make it better

It does, but less and less. I've worked hard on doing other things in my life. After 2.5 years at this, it can't be all about IF and TTC. It was for a long time and I felt like I missed out on so much.

oh yes, i drive dh craaaaazy with this and not only do i think of that when i'm awake but i keep dreaming of babies, its funny how i never dream of being pregnant but i dream of my babies and it feels so good to see myself as a mommy at least on my dreams

I was the same way for nearly 3 years. I drove everyone around me nuts because I would talk about it and sulk about it. It's just awful.

I am with you on that
i go through phases though.. sometimes i am in a funk and its all i think about.. then i make myself stop.. and it works for a while.. but then it starts up all over again.
i dream it all the time too.. it never ends.
i also still have nightmares of when i had my 1st loss.. and when i was in the hospital. its just a mixture.
lately i have been trying to say to myself to just not wish away any days.. or 2 weeks or whatever it is.. just enjoy it, and enjoy everyone around me that i love!

Me too. Sometimes it's just there because it's there and other times it's all I can think about. In the shower, driving to work, at work, in stores...everywhere. I have gotten better at stopping myself or asking DH to do something to help distract me, like go out for the day or a nice dinner somewhere. I also find it depends on where I am at. Like the fisrt half of a cycle I'm less inclined to be obsessive, which is funny b/c that is when you're stimming and all that. Also, I find that on "breaks" I do good the first few weeks but then start to get ants in my pants and think I'm wasting time.
And as much as the support here helps, sometimes I think it feeds into that all consuming thing and then I'll take a break from here too.
It is just another normal part of this crazy process.

Yes it is all consuming at times and other times I keep it in check. I just don't want to wish away my life or miss out on the other wonderful things in life.

Once a month I get a little obsessive and continue to remind DH that we HAVE to BD for the baby. The rest of the month I try not to let it get to me.

For 4 years all I did was live my life in 2 week intervals. Believe me, it consumed my every thought. I know just where you are...just keep focused that there is a light at the end of that tunnel

I think I avoid everyone because its all I can talk about because its all I'm doing these days (for the past 3 1/2yrs). Every time I have a drink its all I talk about so I have been avoiding alcohol for that reason too. And my friends daughters grilled me the other day because they cannot understand that I'm their mother's age and not a Mommy. Though I'm on a break until I get matched (doing DE). So, I'm gonna try to have fun this summer. But, here I am on this site. Probably should stay away from the internet too. That would be the hardest.

thats all i ever talked about when dh and i were ttc. It took control of my life. Dh couldnt take it anymore bc thats all i ever talked about with him. I didnt vent to family, somewhat vented to friends so he was my outlet and it really put a strain on us.

I went to therapy while going through IF because I felt overwhelmed and totally consumed. It helped keep things in perspective.
