Does your 1-year-old feed themselves with a spoon?
If so, what type of spoon? DD is 11.5 months, and I'm desparate for ways to get her to eat

Dd does sometimes feed herself - she is little miss independent and sometimes thats best way to get her to eat. I use the gerber spoons or any other baby brand spoon. HTH and goodluck!

She just started to get the hang of the fork...she likes to stab at her food

she can get it into her mouth. but i have to put the food on it for her. haven't even attempted a fork yet.
oh...and most of the time, the food ends up in her hair. ew.

I have only tried a fork as I think it is much easier to just stab the food. She still does not get it but I keep trying

Nope, too early. My oldest mastered it around 16-18 months and perfected it closer to 20-22 months old.
Give her time
