Does your boss or whoever always have to look in your office when walking by?

Ugh! I hate this. My boss is a pacer; he walks by my office ten thousand times a day, and always looks in while he does it. I can see him doing it through the reflection in my window...I hate it. Please, dude, I am doing my work, but I am also shopping online, checking LIF and LIW, and also sneaking some freelance editorial work in. Please leave me alone. LOL.

LOL - I know!!!! I sit in a cubicle and I especiallly hate when I'm trying to eat at my desk (everyday) and everyone that walks by has to check out my food. UGh - give me some privacy!!!! I feel like I all I do all day is minimize this window!~!

I have a 22 inch monitor and I dont give a ratz azz who sees what I am looking at - There is no point hiding it - my whole row can tell what im doing or not doing...lol.

Anyway, thank god my boss is in Virginia. He only comes here a few times a year

I have a privacy screen, so no one can see what I am doing.

But my monitor is in the corner of the cube that is closest to the walkway, so people walk by and tap my monitor, causing the privacy screen to shake and fall off. Plus it messes with the specific height and angle I set the monitor at. Chat Icon i have to fix it every day.

my boss is a pacer too, I think it is beyond pacing, it is a nervous condition he paces so many times a day, sometimes he knocks on the door or just does something annoying, as he paces. I swear since I been out on leave I can move my neck again. It was getting stuck in the right position from constantly looking over my shoulder. we cannot get on the net and everything is monitored so I have no idea what he wants.

Beth...I totally do the same! I should switch my office around but then it would be super obvious. Sometimes I like having a cube better, like when I worked in the city...

Do we work for the same person? He sharpens his pencils like ten times a day or throws something out in the garbage in the office kitchen, just so he can check out what others are saying/doing. He's an odd little man.

Mine does. I have my screen slanted so that others can't see what I am doing... since I work in the mental health field, privacy is important.

I don't even work in the same building as my boss so I don't have that problem but he does stop by unannounced occasionally. I keep my office door locked (everyone in the dept has a key) and make sure the back of my monitor faces the door.

well actually not our "Head Boss" (the Chief), it's his secretary who works in the same office as us secretaries. she always nosey and loud talking and just in to everything and when i say everything, i mean everything. she has to be involved and taken over whatever it is "The Boss" deligates to her. she's ridiculous! every one employee hates her!!! it seems like you have to go through her for approval. and she b*tches and complains about whatever it is that someone did and oh forbid if something goes wrong she's quick to blame the other person and if it was her own damn fault, you'd think she'd apologize??? NOPE. You would think she's the Chief, Capt or Lieutenant! NOT!!!! the ladies in the office gave her a nick name "LG" aka Lieutenant Governor. Gosh we can't stand her!Chat Icon

Re: Does your boss or whoever always have to look in your office when walking by?

My boss does "rounds" and casually walks around the office periodically with his coffee cup even though it's a real short walk from his office to the kitchen if he just goes the other way. As he walks by, he looks from the corner of his eye into everyone's office ... I mean come on, we all know that you are checking up on us ... give it up already!!
