Does your DC chew his/her food and then spit it out?

DS has been doing this recently, he will chew his food or snacks and then spit it out, does not swallow it.

He doesn't do this all the tiime just sometimes and mostly with food that needs to be chew, not with things like applesauce where no chewing is required?

Anyone's DC do this? What do you think it means?

DD does this when I give her new foods, that she's not sure of.

She did it the other day with a grilled cheese...chewed, spit it out, examined it and then mushed it back in...

I chalked it up to new textures and tastes and I just keep trying things with her...
