Does your DC sleep in their crib if...
they are light and restless sleepers?
If so how do they sleep in the crib?

Re: Does your DC sleep in their crib if...
I noticed that as he has gotten old he is not as restless and not as light as he use to be. He also has been in his crib since 3 months and now he is 6 months old. Before that he was in the bassinet, he never co-slept.

Mine is a restless sleeper not necessarily a light sleeper...never slept straight through the night in the crib! Since 9 months he has been in bed with us and now I can get a good night sleep!

Well, she is not a light sleeper, but a restless one. Well, actually, I guess she's a somewhat light sleeper. But yes, she sleeps in her crib because I feel that is the safest place for her. I would probably crush her in my bed. She moves ALL over her crib!

We use the noise maker and it helps her sleep longer periods.

I've had the AC on all summer. Didn't help. The humidifier, didn't help. A CD, doesn't help much. It's nice to listen to though as he falls asleep.

Re: Does your DC sleep in their crib if...
Sometimes I wonder what I did wrong. Did I do something to make him a light sleeper.
Will they ever outgrow this???
So far he does not show signs of outgrowing it ever!

Re: Does your DC sleep in their crib if...
I don't think you did anything wrong, I just think some kids aren't the greatest of sleepers. All babies make lots of noise when the sleep and wake often while sleeping. I think the key is, and I speak knowing that my 2 kids sleep 12 hour nights without waking at all, is to leave them be and don't be at thier side for every peep. What babies need to learn is to fall back asleep on thier own, so it may take a litte time to hear them fuss and cry, but the more they go without being picked up or soothed, they learn to be good sleepers. Not sure what your routine is, but I just wanted to tell you what worked for us. Hope that helps, good luck!

Yeah, I would totally agree with that one. Some kids are good sleepers and some aren't!!! Noah doesn't sleep for more than 40 minutes in the day time and he is a restless sleeper at night. I can hear him tossing and turning all night...but he does sleep from around 7.00 until around 6.45 am, so I don't worry about his naps anymore, although I would LOVE him to have a nice long nap!! We still do controlled crying at night and every night he cries himself to sleep, tonight he cried for 10 minutes!
