Does your job hinder your ability to stick to a diet, lose weight, etc.?

This is how I feel. I work in an office all day. For some reason, I am starving whenever I work.

On the weekends when I am home, or if I take a day off from work, I am never hungry! I almost have to force myself to eat lunch.

I feel that if I didn't work I would be able to get the weight off that I want and be in better shape. Does anyone else understand or feel the same way as me?

DH! CAN I QUIT MY JOB?!?!? I WOULD BE A LOT MORE SEXIER Chat Icon

YES!

at home, for the most part, i am out and about, shopping and running errands.

here at work i sit on my asss all day, bored to pieces, and i have nothing better to do than waddle myself into the kitchen and get a snack when i am bored.

lately im trying to get coffee or tea instead, so at least i am "doing" something...but most of the time i get a snack

eta- omg who moved this??? soo annoyingggggggggggggggggg

Without a doubt!!!

On the weekends I am rarely home from the minute I get out of the shower until it is time to go to bed. I have my cereal in the am & then I don't even look to eat until dinner time!

At work, I am at a desk & basically bored all day. I find myself constantly in the fridge looking for a snack of somesorts. I can bring all the fruit & good snacks but I always manage to find the bad ones!!!

Lately i have been keeping 1 liter of water at my desk & anytime I get the urge, I just gulp as much water as I can. It seems to be working!!!

When I used to be a waitress I was about 15 pounds lighter. I ran around all day and hardly ate!!! Now I sit my a$$ at my desk and just vegetate.

I would have to get on the treadmill for an hour a day at least just to catch up!!! Chat Icon

Before I got my own dorm fridge because I never had anything on hand if the day got crazy and I couldn't go out.

Now I find I'm hungry all day if I work from home or take a day off!

Re: Does your job hinder your ability to stick to a diet, lose weight, etc.?

It does not hinder me eating healthy because I bring my lunch 95 % of the time.....and I have been very good at eating breakfast at home!!

But it certainly does hinder me getting to the gym on a regular scheduleChat Icon

I just got myself to go back to the gym after a long hiatus.....I feel great! BUT, I start work anywhere from 7am-9am (varies each day).....I never REALLY know when I am getting off. And I work every other weekend. So it is hard to get settled into a routine of going, but I get there right after work most days!

Not work, but school definitely does. I feel like I am constantly sitting...either in a class or at a desk. It takes a lot of my time.

I am just trying to fit in exercise whenever possible, more for health than weight loss. Even if it's only 2x per week, it's better than nothing.

Because I don't work a lot (because of school), food choices are limited. the healthy stuff is so expensive, so I wind up hanging around the vending machine at school. Lately I have been trying to pack a 100 calorie pack or special k bar with me to snack on.

me too- at work I normally eat a salad and I have a friend who also eats healthy- which is hard when you get free lunch- so she is a good support system - and we also walk after when the weather is good

but on the weekends- I have a husband- who never eats healthy and loves to lay on the couch

I bring my lunch to work each day, but on Fridays it is hard. They provide lunch. It is from a different place each week, and it is always sooo good. I broke down yesterday because they ordered in Italian.

Me too. I do so well at work during the week. But when I come home at night or on weekends, everything goes out the window.
