Does Your Library Have A Drop Box?
I have seven books due today. I drive around the library parking lot, go to the door, not a drop box in sight. Turns out they don't have one. So annoying! Can't renew online because I owe them a whopping $2.00 from 2 movies returned a day late last week  So to return them, I have to drag DD in with me. I'm so annoyed. I miss my old library. Does your library have a box?
Oh, mine is Comsewogue.

yes! it's such a great thing too-and i think it helps with getting materials back on time so much more. it is northport library.
i work at our library and i know that if our patrons complain enough about something the directors do something about it. you might want to say something to the directors-it can't hurt!

Ours does. I would ask your library why they do not. I know when I worked in Brooklyn we removed most of them because of security problems. People threw all kinds of stuff in them, sometimes they even lit things on fire and tossed them in, which was especially bad when the box was a chute in a building. It just was too unsafe--unfortunately a few dopes had to ruin it for everyone else.

When I lived in Queens (Auburndale library) they locked up the chute b/c it would go right into the building. I'm in Lindenhurst now & there's a book box & a video box

Ours has a drop box (2 for books and a separate one for videos) that are drive-up in the back of the building. It really is such a time saver!
I would definitely ask the library why they don't have one

Thanks for the warning. I recently moved here, and got my Comsewogue library card only two weeks ago. I'll be sure to mention it/complain the next time I head over there.

I agree!!!! I was so annoyed last week. I had to return books and thought that big blue apple thing was a drop box at first glance, only to find out it's just a big blue apple! I had to drag dd and ds into the library.
Do you go to any of the toddler classes? Since we just moved, I just started doing classes there. If I know to look for you, I'll introduce myself.

I thought the apple was the drop box too!!
I ended up going in after work and she said registration for Summer classes is tomorrow, so by the time I get off, I'm not sure what classes will be left to sign up for. We did sign up for the Ronald McDonald reading thing next Thursday though.
