Does your LO play in his/her crib?
When did it start? What did you put in the crib for them to play with? DS is 11 months and pretty much just whines until I go it I put a ball in the other day and this morning I went in and he had the ball in his hand...while he was whining

Re: Does your LO play in his/her crib?
Around 11 - 12 months. B4 that he'd just get up and cry or whines for me or DH to get him.
I only have two things in there. A glow worm and soft stuffed animal. Oh, and about 4 paci's that he really plays with. He gets up and will take the paci's and knock them around on the crib. Usually will play nicely or sit there for about 20 mins. We also have a projector from the sound machine that shows stars and moons so he likes to look up at that. He also plays in his crib b4 he goes to bed. That also started around the same time he was waking up and playing

Re: Does your LO play in his/her crib?
DD will occasionally play before bed or a nap, but rarely if ever plays after... she usually just whines for me to come get her immediately after waking. The playing before naps is annoying too though because sometimes she'll play for 40 min when I put her down before she goes off, and all I want her to do is get some sleep!!!

From the time she could sit up on her own, I put her in her crib to play often. I put in fabric books, toy keys, teethers, cell phone toys etc. I could shower, clean my house, and even have the occassional phone call Both my girls were very good in this way.

Re: Does your LO play in his/her crib?
DS is 8 months old and plays in his crib sometimes. If I am not in the room with him it doesn't last more the 10 -15 minutes. He has 2 stuffed animals in there and a crib toy on the side that he can push the buttons. If I am in his room doing stuff, he will stay and play for as long as I am there..

Never.
If I let DS play in his crib, he would think it is playtime when I try to put him down for naptime.
Crib = sleepytime.

Re: Does your LO play in his/her crib?
Yes he will, he usually cries and throws a tantrum for a minute but then I make a big show of "ooh look, the elmo book, the dolly, etc"...and then he's interested in it and will play for a few minutes. Not too long though.

Re: Does your LO play in his/her crib?
Joey loves playing in his crib, which makes getting ready in the morning, really easy sometimes!! He'll also hang out in there for about a half hour when he wakes in the morning.
When I'm folding laundry or just getting ready, I load it up with toys!

Re: Does your LO play in his/her crib?
DS does sometimes, but not always. He's 10m & used to be content to just sit & look around the room at the shadows, etc for 20-30 min in the morning, but lately I've found that giving him some blocks to bang together or his bear helps.
