Does your toddler hate large crowds of people and get shy sometimes?
My oldest will be 3 in February. She does great at the park, museums, amusement parks etc... the large crowds there don't seem to bother her - but when we are at a party (ex children's party or any party for that matter) - she gets so shy - refuses to say hello to people, turns her face - its almost like she knows she has to face people and kiss them hello etc... that makes her so nervous and shy and she remains super attached to me almost the whole time.
She eventually warms up alittle to the other children, people etc...and does well with my niece because they see each other often - but she is so darn shy and wants mommy all the time in these kind of situations.
Does your toddler react like this? We go to birthday parties often, the park etc.. I do alot to keep her exposed to people, outdoors, family, friends etc.....and we plan to sign her up for a nursery program next year - but when does the shyness seem to go away? At home and around "close" family and friends - she is wonderful and not shy at all - but in larger gatherings she is attached literally to my hip.

DD is shy in small crowds...large crowds...doesnt matter...if she doesnt know the people, she gets very quiet and clingy - it takes a LONG time for her to warm up. (she is 2.5 yrs old)
