Does your two-and-a-half-year-old...
..narrate every. single. thing?
Like, what she's doing, what she's thinking, what other people are doing...?
"Ale going upstairs" "Man smiling - happy" "Ale likes apple cider" "Mama angry" "Papa have socks on" "Scoutie lying down"
Is it a phase? When does it end? I was eager for her to start talking, but now the endless chatter.......

Abby is nowhere near 2 and a half, but speaking as a teacher of children with severe expressive and receptive language issues, I'd be counting my blessings! This is a great thing!!!

You already know Christopher does this
ETA-CHELLE! Didn't we tell her not to wish for the talking b/c then they don't shut up?

Oh I do, I do!!! Especially since she was a late bloomer.
But 2 weeks of no classes and lots of togetherness....and I just need a little peace and quiet. I can't wait to get back to our routine!
And Kate smartazz I knew you'd say that -- and you are right

Re: Does your two-and-a-half-year-old...
Ha..my DD just turned two and she narrates everything too...to the point that she is constantly talking and now, when she isnt talking she announces "Actually Im not talking right now"...so its a constant narration, even when she isnt doing anything....it is too cute!

YES! Its so funny, he talks and narrates all the time, and also tells conversations and things that happened already (e.g. when DH comes home from work will DS will say : then mommy said no vacuum and I was crying) ETA: DS doesn't shut up ever everyone says he takes after me as he's very talkative and social

Re: Does your two-and-a-half-year-old...
My DS will be 2.5 the end of Feb but, yes, he talks non-stop from the moment he wakes up - and he expects constant responses too or else he starts to get loud It's not just narration though (he does do this alot) - it's directions and questions. He is constantly telling me what to do, how to do it and asking me what I am doing

Yup, everything is described in detail...even what DH & I are doing. "Mommy, why are you opening the refrigerator? What are you getting?" and "Daddy, why did you just open the front door?"

just wait until she is 6, then it will be "mommy remember that time, when I walked around the house, and narrated every little thing, and you were so tired of hearing me talking and ...and... and... and"
I am not sure when this phase ends, I am hoping for 7
