Re: dog food help
What breed is ur dog?
It's a tough ? to answer bc the dog may just be a picky eater. My Shih Tzu wouldn't eat either. I went thru 4 or 5 different brand dog foods all high end - wet and dry and he still wouldnt eat it. He's on a diet of rice and chicken bc that'a all he will eat. My friends think I nuts when the see me prepare his meals-haha.
If the dog isnt a picky eater and you just keep changing it they will become accustomed to the change and you will be changing it all the time.
Keep in mind then when switching foods make sure to transition slowly this way their belly is ok.
IDK tho, this is just based on my experience with one very spoiled Shih Tzu

Re: dog food help
I put a tbsp of wet into my dog's
(Cavalier) dry food.
I used to use Wellness but found that
BJ's makes their own Holistic dog food
and ALOT cheaper, my dog Loves it and
we are happy.

Re: dog food help
My dog does this when he is bored with his food. I use too different brands now and it seems to help. Sometimes I will add broth to his dry food.

Re: dog food help
I have a yorkie that does this and I asked the vet and she said it's just the way he is. He will skip entire meals even when his food is accessible all day. I wouldn't worry to much, if the food is there and he doesn't eat it maybe he's just not hungry. Dogs are smart, he won't starve himself. If he starts to skip full days in a row then I would definitely be concerned and think he were sick or something.

Re: dog food help
My dog does this from time to time, and the vet said that "a healthy dog will not starve itself" and not to worry unless it goes more than 3 days.

Re: dog food help
Dh and I have a chihuahua/jack russel terrier mix who is almost 6 months old. he does the same thing with his food. some days he'll want to eat every last morsel and other days could care less about his food. we originally fed him science diet and now have switched to merrick brand puppy food. (they sell this brand at mutts and butts in bellmore or merrick, idk which town). he likes this brand a lot more but still has his days.
he's been teething and losing his baby teeth as well. so we thought maybe the food was too hard for him. we put a little water in his food to moisten it up (wet food gives him diahhrea and we've tried a few brands).
HTH a little bit.
