Dog sleeping help needed-little long
SO I gave in to DH and have let Jersey sleep with us in our room. She goes from the bed to the floor a few times during the night. When she was in her crate, she slept through the night and was quiet until about 7, 7:30. Now that she is with us, she seems to be up & down alot and has been getting up at 5/5:30. barking so loud, it scares the crap out of me. It's driving me nuts because I feel like I can't get a good night sleep anymore (I'm a VERY light sleeper). She does always go to the bathroom when she gets up, but then she is awake for a while. She used to go at 7, come back in and go right to sleep. I mean I am so happy that she wakes us up & doesn't go to the bathroom in the house, but I am wondering why the big change-is it beacause we changed her routine? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or advice.

she probably gets ancy because she is not confined to the crate. you might want to go back to crating at night

Thank you, this is what I'm thinking, but DH wants her with us, he's such a moosh. I think we are really going to have to discuss this.

I think your dog probably felt safer, more secure in her crate at night. She probably misses it. I would definately begin the crating routine at night again. Dogs, like children, get used to their routine and when it changes it can make them uneasy and unsure.

Re: Dog sleeping help needed-little long
OK, so we put her back in the crate last night (against DH's will) and she did pretty well, she did wake up a few times crying, and broke my heart, but overall did fine. I feel terrible because I never should have disrupted her routine. We originally let her in our bed when she had surgery because we were afraid she'd chew her stitches out. Oh well, hopefully she will learn to like being in her crate again. I feel like a bad mommyThanks for the input.
