Dog Whisperer on National Geographic
I do not even own a dog but I love watching this show! I think its amazing to see how some common sense and practice fix the dogs of their issues
Anyone watch it too?
Also- what is so special about the Illusion leash he sells?

Is that the one with Cesar? I like it too, but it amazes me how he trains the owners, not the dogs.
Most of the dog's bad behavior stems from it's humans. Some of them turn around so quickly too, and I laugh at the people that are at their wit's end.

Re: Dog Whisperer on National Geographic
Definitely he trains the humans....I laugh when they tell him they are going crazy because the dog runs around the house and barks and he's always like "Well how long do you walk/play with them?" and the owners are like "Wuh? You mean I need to excercise them?
I also like the way he tells them dogs are dogs- not children, not friends or babies- they are animals and should be treated as such.

Re: Dog Whisperer on National Geographic
I read all three articles in the links you posted
While I do not obviously work on the set, I have not seen ANYTHING on the tv show that even hints at animal abuse!!
Using a choke collar and holding down a dog are nowhere in the same league as some of the HORRIFIC stories on the news the last few weeks by people who supposedly "loved" their animals.
I see the show as correcting human misgivings- and although I may get bashed I do agree with Millan's position on the different between male and female reactions to animals.

Whats an Organisation??? UK/Australian spelling of Organization....we don't use "z' the same way as in the US.
The abuse is very subtle but I have seen it in a few episodes. One tine in particular is how he "poked" a 4 lb Chihuahua in the clavicle to get it to stop barking. So very dangerous and definitely a sign of aggression toward the dog.
And not to start drama, but choke collars are abusive, even if the prongs are covered with the rubber tips, and can be fatal for certain breeds. His methods, although effective, are questionable at times.
