Doing the BKT this week!
So realistically, what can I expect?
My hair is not thick, but not thin - neither curly nor straight... it's wavy, but not a nice wavy, if that makes sense... I either wear it up in a ponytail or just down and flat-ironed. I'm hoping that I will be able to hop out of the shower in the mornings before work and not blow-dry and straighten every day anymore.
How long does it last for? How long does it take to do? I'm assuming I can't go swimming the next day, huh? Can I sleep on it the night it gets done?
I'm going all out on Tuesday - new cut, new highlights and the BKT. I can't wait!

Re: Doing the BKT this week!
I just had it done last week and LOVE it so far! My hair is thick and wavy, but not in a good way. I was able to blowdry it in 10 minutes and barely took a brush to it. It looked like I blew it out and flat ironed it. I really fell in love when I sat outside in the humidity for a few hours at a BBQ and it looked the same after that instead of a big frizzy mess.
The process itself was much quicker than I expected. I got the 24 hour BKT. She washed my hair twice with a clarifying shampoo, blow dried it, sprayed the chemical in while brushing it through. This completely soaked my hair. She then blow dried it again and then flat ironed to seal it in. I couldn't get my hair wet or put it up for 24 hours.
I'm told it's supposed to last anywhere from 3-6 months. Using shampoo and conditioner designed for the treatment might help prolong it. Swimming actually takes it out faster.
Good luck! You'll love it!
