Dolisi/Hanauer office re: Flu Shot
those of you that goes to Dr. Dolisi/Hanauer, do you know if they've started offering the flu shot? Is it preservative free?
My office is currently offering flu shots, but it's the regular one, so I am trying to decide if I should get it here or wait until my appt with Dr. H

Not sure about that office, but in case you need it to find it elsewhere, I remember someone posting that they got one at Walgreens. HTH!

hmm, I didnt even know there was a difference. Dr. Rosenberg at University Plaza suggested that I have one, so I just said OK without knowing anything else. They gave it to me on Wed. I have no clue if it was preservative free or not. What is the difference? What can happen?

Otherwise I'll just get it from my office health center, it's free.

Yes, they definitely have the preservative free shot. I have an appt on Saturday at Walgreens to get the preservative free shot. I believe that they will also vaccinate pregnant women in 2nd or 3rd trimester, if they have a note from their OB/GYN, but I'd call walgreens to double check this.
eta: it costs $29.99 as opposed to $24.99 for the regular shot.

I walked into Walgreens 37 weeks pregnant and without an appointment and got the flu shot. They automatically gave me the thimerasol free shot and told me they were doing this because I was pregnant. I called ahead of time and asked if I needed a note from my doc and they said nothing is required. They also told me making an appointment was optional. It was a really easy experience to get the flu shot from them! You pay 5 bucks more as PP said ($29.99) to get the thimerasol free shot.

When I was there last wk, Hanauer told me they don't have the flu shots in yet so if you can get it elsewhere, you should.

Yikes. Did he say why. I am so torn. I saw Dr. H today-they still have not gotten them yet she said to get it somewhere else if I could and that the cdc recommends both shots.
