The Trump Organization will press ahead with multimillion-dollar plans to expand one of the president-elect’s golf resorts in Scotland, despite its apparent pledge to halt new investments overseas.
Trump officials said the plans for the Trump International Golf Course Scotland in Aberdeenshire – likely to immediately involve extending its boutique hotel and building a second 18-hole golf course – did not conflict with his promise not to pursue new or “pending” deals outside the US.
“Implementing future phasing of existing properties does not constitute a new transaction so we intend to proceed,” a Trump Organization spokeswoman told the Guardian.

“He’s using language which is ambiguous. It clearly illustrates that around the world, he will just simply expand around the various holdings and as they continue to expand, the conflicts of interest expand,” Painter said.
“It’s like [the board game] Monopoly: if you have one house on Boardwalk, it’s not a new deal to go for three hotels on Boardwalk.”

The expansion proposals are partly derived from the resort’s masterplan, which was approved against fierce opposition from environmentalists by the Scottish government in 2008.

Just like Bush Sr. "Read my lips, no new taxes...", Trump has so many deals around the world, he can just stretch the meaning of what constitutes an "existing property expansion" and what is or isn't a "new" deal.
Conflict on top of conflict.....
It's nice to see he has so much time on his hands that he can focus on building golf courses in foreign countries.... I guess he has nothing else to occupy his time lately....
The 2008 deal is obviously not in the debate, since that was way before the election, but it shows that a lot of his plans are opposed by the communities, but the governments (foreign and domestic) often approve them. Now that he'll be president, the same deal becomes a conflict.

I just came on to post about his MLK fb post. I actually really liked it and for a mere second thought holy crap he may be sane after all.. and then I see this and can't help but laugh that he can't stay sane for more than 30 seconds.. this isn't ok, rules apply to everyone including the president and I'm not sure I fully understand why he bothered becoming president. It's as if he wants to do better in moments and then says "fck it, I'm rich."

This is interesting. I read an article last night about his support of Brexit and him saying he knew it would happen and how it was such a smart move for them. The first thing that popped into my head was "Doesn't he have a HUGE golf course in Scotland?" There is always an ulterior motive with him.

I have mixed feelings about the role sexism played- sorry to go off tangent. But you can't deny that he is doing so many things he accused her of, and there is zero outrage. I have to wonder if another woman with the exact agenda would have succeeded. In Hillary's case, people hated her from the moment she became First Lady. I am old enough to remember the vitriol she drew, especially when she attempted to improve healthcare coverage. People were thrilled when she failed. And at that time there were way fewer women in elected office.

Because your forgetting the fact that half the country did not want another 4 years of Obama which is what Hillary would have been. That is what tipped it over, not because she was a woman. DNC anointed her as the Next Coming and wanted her to be President no matter what (which was shown in the emails that were leaked) so put some of that anger into your own party and their failure to put the needs of their constituents first. If Bernie ran or anyone else (I personally would have liked to see Biden run), it would have been a different story and it had nothing to do with her vagina.

I would never accuse you of being sexist. We all have our reasons for voting the way we do. But, we have to be realistic and see things for what they are. You can't deny that he's guilty of pretty much all the same things she was accused of, yet it means nothing to his supporters, as long as it's not her it's ok. Remember, he could shoot someone on 5thAve and the ppl will still love him! Can the same be said for HRC? She can't even walk down 5th Ave without being a target. Held to the same standard?

You know, I understand what you're observing. I have felt in general that there is a double standard with Republicans VS Democrats. For example, George W. was soooooo dumb and sooooo ridiculous, yet excuse after excuse was made. Again, I ask why is it forgivable for Trump? Why is literally EVERYTHING forgivable and overlooked for Trump? If HRC, villified for all her baggage, had gone up against a human being, male or female, and lost I'd say kudos, congrats to her opponent. But she didn't. She went up against the "male" version of herself who has EVEN MORE BAGGAGE, bigly baggage, yugely baggage. Tremendous. And lost. Something doesn't quite add up. One begins to reach the conclusion that America is terrified of vagina and probably never seen one in real life. Might be why they keep trying to cockblock, control, and defund it at every turn.
We are basically on the same lefty team. So don't get me wrong. But as you yourself said EVERYTHING Dump does is forgiven. I agree with that. Even after the election is done and over. Obama is a man and he was criticized for just about everything he did. So I don't think it's just a gender issue here where all men are given a pass and women are vilified.
I am NOT sexist. I did not support HRC not bc she has a vagina, but because I had fundamental issues with her policies, her and/or the DNC rigging for her, her relationship with wall st, her being more of the same old, and other stuff. (Obviously I didn't support Dump either). Please don't accuse me of sexism because I assure you that's not it.
My point is it's not always sexism just bc she's a woman. And if you paint it so broadly as just a sexism issue, you are failing to appreciate and learn from the other legitimate reasons why she lost.
I would never accuse you of being sexist. We all have our reasons for voting the way we do. But, we have to be realistic and see things for what they are. You can't deny that he's guilty of pretty much all the same things she was accused of, yet it means nothing to his supporters, as long as it's not her it's ok. Remember, he could shoot someone on 5thAve and the ppl will still love him! Can the same be said for HRC? She can't even walk down 5th Ave without being a target. Held to the same standard?
Also, the warcry "hang the *****!" says a lot, speaks volumes.
You know, I understand what you're observing. I have felt in general that there is a double standard with Republicans VS Democrats. For example, George W. was soooooo dumb and sooooo ridiculous, yet excuse after excuse was made. Absolutely, I've been saying that all along. And I recognize Obama has his own faults as will anyone. But how difficult did the GOP make it for him setting him up for failure from the outset? And being accused constantly of being muslim (which I guess is a crime now?), born in Kenya, asked to prove himself and show his papers, by none other than this volatile hot mess..... This is the mentality that we're dealing with. Asking the first black president for his papers. On MLK day we have to ask ourselves how much progress have we really made in the last 50 years? I wonder if HRC was a man with all the same faults and baggage if they would still be chanting to hang that ____! Something tells me no. Something also tells me that baggage wouldn't have weighed as much. It was def ugly and vicious. But people are proud. And it's that same pride that will be our undoing.
Sexism isn't the whole story, but it's def part of it. How much? I don't know. I believe it's substantial enough though.

Because your forgetting the fact that half the country did not want another 4 years of Obama which is what Hillary would have been. That is what tipped it over, not because she was a woman. DNC anointed her as the Next Coming and wanted her to be President no matter what (which was shown in the emails that were leaked) so put some of that anger into your own party and their failure to put the needs of their constituents first. If Bernie ran or anyone else (I personally would have liked to see Biden run), it would have been a different story and it had nothing to do with her vagina.
I'm not a dem so not my party to search. Also not angry though I can see why you'd think I am. Dem party obv has plenty of blame as does the rep party and the media for creating him and giving him his glory. She probably would have been more of the same status quo, but I'm confident she wouldn't have been tweeting racist jokes to Kim Jong at 3 am and texting him d!ck pics. It's more that he knew how to work the crowd, as all con men do, and had all the right buzzwords to light a fire under his supporters' asses REGARDLESS of the obvious primate buffoon that he is. Throw the words "Mexicans, Muslims, illegals, jobs, establishment" at most Americans and they salivate. Doesn't even matter if he means it. If he was a serious person and could be trusted to keep his word I'd say God bless. But he has a pretty shit.ty track record and hasn't given those who didn't vote for him (which is A LOT of ppl) much confidence in him and he does something daily that makes us cringe. Probably for the first time in my entire life I want nothing more than to be WRONG.
