Donating Clothes
Does anyone know where i can donate several big bags of clothes (in the south nassau area)? They're all nice work type clothes plus some casual stuff in good condition, that i'd really like someone to be able to use. I'm in Baldwin and I usually drop clothes in the boxes behind the church in rvc.. but wondering if anyone knows any other locations that are for helping out families or people trying to get back on their feet
TIA!

Re: Donating Clothes
I use the drop boxes too BUT my coworker brings all of her clothes to the Salvation Army and they give her a receipt for her taxes!

Re: Donating Clothes
We usually donate to the Salvation Army or Goodwill - do a google search to find locations near you.

Re: Donating Clothes
You could try a woman's shelter (not sure of any in that area) or a church.
I don't donate to Goodwill. If you have ever been in their stores, you know how high they mark that stuff up. I feel like people that really need it can't afford buying it from there.

I usually drop stuff in the bins, but we just got a card from Big Brother Big Sister saying the date they will be picking up on our block. It also mentioned that you could call them for a pick-up.

Re: Donating Clothes
I always opt for Big Brothers Big Sisters. They will pick up or I drop off in a bin.
Not a big Salvation Army fan.
