Don't know what is wrong with Oscar my Pug

Okay, Okay Oscar is a very crazy pug. We have learned to live with his very needy, hyperactive life. (many pugs we know are lazy and roly poly)

Oscar spends a lot of time between my apartment and my parents house on LI. We left him this past week with my mom and for the first time he was VERY bad. He peed and pooped everywhere in her house (this is not something he EVER does). She told me he would be out in the yard for hours, come in and then go.

I mean dogs have accidents but this was almost intentional--like spite.

Do you think I should take him to the vet?

I don't think you need to take him to the vet. I think he was upset that you left him and that was his reaction.
Misty has done this when we got her, when we moved into the house, and the first time we left her and my sister stayed with her.
Some dogs have terrible seperation anxiety and that is their way of reacting.

ITA with this.

When my brother moved out of my moms house and left his dog with my mother, she started doing this.

I agree with the other posters... the first time we left Cooper for an extended period of time with my parents, he came home to our house and the first thing he did was run into our room and pee on our bed. I get it that this probably isn't the first time he was left with your parents, but dogs have moods too just like we do.

If he starts doing this in your home, than I might consider taking him to the vet... he could be sick.

I agree that it is his way of looking for attention and acting out. My pug did similiar things when we first brought homw dd.

Peanut acted this way when we left her at my inlaws while we went on our HM. She was just upset that we left her and actually had diarrhea and just couldn't control herself.

My MIL called us to ask if she should take Peanut to the vet. I told her to give her some cooked white rice and poof, Peanut was fine!
