Don't know what size clothes to wash.
I got a TON of clothes at my shower and since I'm due in a week and a half I figure it's about time I start washing some (nothing like procrastinating, huh?) Anyway, I have GD so I go for growth sonos often. At my last one (38w 1d) on Thursday, they estimated DD was 7lbs 14 oz. I know they are not always accurate but I don't even know if I should bother washing any of the newborn clothes I got or just go straight to the 0-3 months. What do you think? Also, will I be able to return the unwashed clothes to the stores without receipts? Any advice is appreciated!

Re: Don't know what size clothes to wash.
My DS was born 6-9 and came home at 6-1. He only had 2 newborn outfits but they only lasted about 2 weeks. The 0-3 were big on him for a bit but he is now 11 weeks and 10-11 and he is in his 3-6.
Hope that kinda helps on size.

Re: Don't know what size clothes to wash.
This is my current dilemma too. I have GD and Im afraid baby is going to be too big to fit into the newborn clothes. I would wash a few newborn outfits (just in case) but defintely wash the 0-3mth outfits.

I washed a lot beforehand too but really it takes one load one time to wash - wash two outfits ahead of time so baby has something to wear asap (something simple and comfy, sizes newborn, and 0-3) and the rest have someone else wash in the right size while you/baby are in hospital.
you can return anything with tags on it for store credit

I would wash the coming home outfit and then let your mom or DH wash the appropriate clothing in dreft or tide free and clear while you are in the hospital. It will take 2 hours to wash and dry the clothing.

Re: Don't know what size clothes to wash.
I would wash newborn side snap tops and pajamas only. My dr. swore my dd was going to be 8-9 lbs, and she was 7 lbs 1 oz and wore newborn for probably a month.

just wash a few newborn and a few 0-3. then once baby is here you can wash the rest when you know what size they are.

This..with DD I washed all of them and it was such a waste. She had a ton of NB and 0-3 mos. I wish I would've kept the tags on and exchanged some for larger sizes.
