don't know why... why does DD cry & cry whenever she sees me??

and it is so frustrating. it gets so bad that DH "yells" at me to leave the room or hide! she just cries and wants me and crawls after my legs and wants me to hold her nonstop. i LOVE her-i love that she loves and wants me BUT it is out of control. i can hardly walk through my house without having her whine and cry for me.

anyone go through anything like this with their DC? is it a phase? don't know...just thought that by 11 months it would get easier.
i just want to see her happy more often not miserable when she is with me!
she does not do this with DH at all...

Bryan does this too at times. Honestly, I know it sounds mean, but, if it's a whine, I know he's OK, I ignore it.
The other day, I was sitting on the couch, he came up to me and literally pulled my sock off my foot.
If he gets into hysterics, yes, I pick him up and we play with something else or just cuddle..sometimes its what he needs.
Sometimes, if I ignore it, he will be like "Oh, OK, mom's busy" and he will go back to playing.

I hope it gets better.

Funny, my DD went through this starting around her first birthday. It olny lasted a month or so. She's over it now.

oh, i know how hard that is to deal with. From what I've read & experienced, it is a phase. It will get better, then it will get worse, then it will get better. At 21 months, if my DD has had a rough day at daycare, she'll see me walk in the door & start crying, even though she's happy to see me.

Is there anything you can do to distract her from focusing on you like that and redirect her attention to something else, like a toy or book? Maybe she needs more experience spending time with you and other adults/people so she can see that you can be in the room and be close by, and she can play away from you & be ok. As she starts becoming more mobile, she might be more willing to explore & be away from you.

This parenting thing is the greatest & toughest thing in the world. Hang in there

I'm going through the same thing. My Dh also tells me to leave the room. Especially if it is nap/or bedtime. We try not to give into it all the time. Its not everyday but has been pretty often this last month. DD will be 1 next Friday.
I hope it stops soon. I love that she wants me but it gets a little dramatic.

I totally witnessed this with my goddaughter and her mom and dad. I actually felt bad for her father b/c he felt like he had done something wrong, and it was very sad to see him pout b/c his DD didn't want anything to do with him.

She totally grew out of it. Tell your DH to be patient, and soon enough she will be Daddy's girl, and he will have a rough time getting her away from him and on to you!

I think it is a phase. Sometimes they just don't know how to handle their emotions, so when they see you they start crying. It's their way to show how much they have missed you. DS went through that phase when he was 10 months old.
