Don't you hate it when...
people give you unsolicited opinions?
Our company is a HUGE United Way contributor. We have this thing called a "pacesetter" where they take money out of your paycheck each week and give it to the United Way. This is all well and good for some people, but some people just can't afford to do this! So, I make a modest contribution every year just by giving them a check.
Well, this woman I work with decides to pass judgment (spelled the right way for you leighla  ) on me. "How can you not be a pacesetter? It's only such and such a week, what's the big deal?"
Mind your own damn business, that's the big deal.

I just LOVE when other people make suggestions on how I spend my own money.  Perhaps, you can do the pacesetter thing and she can pay your phone bill.

If anyone dared to question me about donating, I would tell them that if and when I donate, the United Way would not be the way I would go. I would give it directly to a charity, without the history of corruption at the top levels of the organization that the United Way has had. I also think a larger percentage goes directly to those in need when I donate directly to a charity itself.
People really need to learn to mind their own business.

I would say I was an anarchist and don't beleive in contributing to non-profits because they are all controlled by big government!

What a ******!!!
I used to hate that. At my old company, they did the same thing. Then towards the end of the sign up HR would send out an email to the entire region with all the names of the people who hadn't "participated" yet. I had a lot of disposable income then, so I would participate. But I always felt like it was like they were calling people out in front of everyone. What if these people really can't give right now. It's embarassing for them. But they would do it every year.

That sucks, I'm sorrry.
My parents used to work for a large Drug Company which was Huge for United Way but they didn't go for the whole "sharing is caring" donation but instead they gave to the Red Cross and Salvation Army which instead were two organizations that they personally knew helped alot of people.
