Dots closing.....
OK I know this is the cheapest store in the world and I don't shop here often but was still sad to see the sign that they are closing in West Babylon today. Once in awhile I would find decent work pants here for pennies.

i know exactly how you feel!!! my midtown office was right next to Conway ( not sure if they exist on LI) i would get all my plain cotton shirts from them for 3.99!!!! i almost cried when they went out of business 2 weeks ago.
that store came in handy when a bird pooped alll over me one fabulous morning. i was drenched in shit and was staying at my bfs so i didnt have extra clothing. I threw on one of his tshirts and continued my commute to work. ran into conway and got a clean one. ugh it was gross!!!

I keep telling everyone the world is being taken over by drug stores. Here in NYC its Duane Reades and when I go to LI I notice it's nothing but CVS and Walgreens EVERYWHERE!!
eta: Although I love having DRs everywhere since they have Chase ATMS...but then again, there are about 4 Chases within a 3 block radius near me.

Well it's a real sense of security to know that if I ever need cold meds, hairspray or condoms while in midtown, I don't have far to travel !

Agreed!!! There is such a drastic difference between 34th and 7th and 34th and 8th.
And don't get me started on 8th between 34th and 35th...crackhead citaaaaayyyyyyy!!!
(Though I really do like the DR on 34th and 8th...I'm in there all the time. All. The. Time. Yesterday I was in there and I used my debit and they asked if I wanted cash back....I was like WHAAAAATTTTTTT CASSSSHHHH BAAAAACCCCCK AT DUANE READE?!?! The cashier was like "woah, that's new!" and I was like "yeah, it didn't ask me that 48 hours ago when I was last in this place!!!")
CASH BACK ON DEBIT PURCHASES AT DUANE READE. Finally. F-I-N-A-L-L-Y.

Lol I'm in 34 btwn 7 and 8 but on the rare occasion I can step out to get food, nothing like cafe Nunez on 35 (7+8)... Walk 500 ft to 8th and u will want to power wash yourself....don't get me started on that lil sketchy alley on 34th where Garrett popcorn is next to the LIrR... Breaking bad should've filmed there
