double their birth weight?
When did your babies double their birth weight? And did you BF or FF?
I took Charlie for his four month visit yesterday and he is only 14 pounds, when at birth he was 8 pounds. Last month the pediatrician told me she was going to recommend I start food this month, but then yesterday she told me that they like to wait until the double their birth weight. He gains about a pound a month, so that won't be for another two months! He is only in the 25th percentile for weight, and the 75th for height -- he is real long and thin.
She did let me start only rice cereal because he has very good head/neck control and he is waking a lot during the night and she said it might help him sleep longer. I BF, but I dont know if that has anything to do with anything.
TIA.

Re: double their birth weight?
DD doubled her birth weight by 4 months. I never follow those percentile charts... So long as DD is well is all we care about!
I nurse and we have no plans of any other food for at least 6 months if not longer and the Pediatrician gave us the ok.

Re: double their birth weight?
At birth Alex was born 9lbs 11oz. He just turned 2 moths last week. If I had to guess, he probably weighs close to 15lbs . I guess I'll know his real weight when I see his pediatrician in 2 weeks.

Re: double their birth weight?
DD was 9 10 when born and 19 pounds at 6 months. We started food at 5 1/2 months.
