double vs. single breast pump
What are the advantages of a double compared to a single? I am trying to put a breastpump on my registry and don't really want to spend a lot on it.

Re: double vs. single breast pump
Sorry if this seems obvious, but with a double you can pump both at once -- so instead of spending 10 minutes on one side and then 10 minutes on the next you are done in one shot.

Re: double vs. single breast pump
other than time, that is pretty obvious- I was wondering if I was missing some advantages.

Re: double vs. single breast pump
What do you need it for depends on what pump you should get.. Do you plan on exclusively pumping? Are you using it to keep your supply up or pump at work? Do you need it to give a few bottles while you are away from your baby ?

Re: double vs. single breast pump
Hi- I plan on pumping and breastfeeding. When I return to work I will need bottles for during the day. When I am home I will be doing more breastfeeding than pumping unless I know I'm going to be away from the baby for a while. I won't be pumping at work.

Re: double vs. single breast pump
If you are trying to keep your supply up while you are at work I would recommend a double pump. You can pump both sides at the same time and it is faster. A single pump I recommend for the occasional pumper.

Re: double vs. single breast pump
My milk lets down on both sides at the same time. If I were only using a single I'd waste some milk from the side not being pumped. I actually pump one side while feeding Baby G on the other since I cannot control the let-down. Hope this helps.

Re: double vs. single breast pump
I feel like if you are going back to work, a double would be better because its faster.
