Downton Abbey - SPOILERS
So I knew that the guy who played Matthew didn't renew his contract for the 4th season but I wasn't sure they were going to completely kill him off...I thought they might have him linger in a coma for a while for the next season.
I wonder how far ahead it will jump next season. It's going to be a long wait until next January....

Downton Abbey - SPOILERS
I can't believe the season is already over! That was way too fast!
I had read spoilers before the season started that Dan Stevens was leaving the show, so I knew it was coming.
I am so glad that they did not pursue that relationship between Tom and Edna - I don't like her for him. Although, I also read that wasn't going to be the last we see of her. I hope its not because they put them together.
I'm kind of hoping he ends up with Edith

Don't even get me started on the trauma I experienced last night even KNOWING what was going to happen. 
But I read an interview with Julian Fellowes in the Times today, and he said season four picks up six months later so they "don't have to do funerals and all that stuff." (Yes, those were his exact words. I'd like to see what Mary would do with all of it, but at the same time I'm kind of glad -- they sure as hell put us through the ringer with Sybil.)
I just do not understand how I'm supposed to last another 11 months now...

I can't believe we have to wait so long to see season 4. I'm going to have to find episodes online when it airs in Europe in November I believe. I want to see Tom with Mary actually. She always seemed to like him. I was hoping Anna would be pg with Bates' baby. Maybe in Season 4!

Would you believe I've been meaning to catch this show forever... FOREVER (insanely crazy work year)... and last night, of all nights, was the first episode I ever saw ?
I loved, loved, loved it! The writing, the acting... superb! I'm at the point I barely watch tv because 99.9% is just regurgitated awfulness.
But for that to be my first episode
Off to the library to get Season 1 and 2 on DVD

Yeah, I was not a fan of the end. Not because I have any special love for Matthew, but because this JUST happened like three episodes ago. It just seems so overly dramatic. I bawled like a baby throughout the Sybil death, but Matthew? I just sat there like "give me a break." 
You knew something bad was going to happen especially because the whole episode was pretty "boring," I mean nothing particularly interesting went on.
Well, I'm glad it's jumping six months into the future when it returns.
P.S. Has Thomas Barrow grown on anyone else? I think I'm in love!

yea matthew crawley dying made absolutely no sense at all. i hate that they only did it because the actor is leaving the show, bc it really did feel very false and silly to have him die like that on one of the best days of his life. thank GOD we didnt have to see mary and mrs. crawley finding out or any of the immediate aftermath. after the trauma of sybil i dont think i could handle it!

 1000% agree. That was the only part that made me laugh through my tears in that awful scene in the Sybil episode. (I almost typed "debacle" instead of "episode.")
