Dr Brown's vs Playtex
We are using playtex ventaire and drop ins but the Dr suggested Dr browns to maybe help alleviate the gas that Alyson is having....not that it's terribly bad, I just hate seeing her uncomfy.

Re: Dr Brown's vs Playtex
We started with the drop-in's since they were supposed to be great for gas but they made Jenna horribly gassy so we also switched to Dr.Browns and no joke-they were like a miracle-much less gas and easier to toot. They also reduced her spitting up. We used those for a year in addition to soy formula for her mild reflux and it helped a lot.

Re: Dr Brown's vs Playtex
I used the standard just because I had a starter kit in the house and used those.

Love the Dr. Brown's since the beginning. I would go with the wide neck if you are also BFing - I believe they are more conducive to BFing.

Same here.... Ryan had no problem switching to them from the breast and we did have a gas issue when I switched to formula....I then switched to soy...
And no issues since...there the only bottle Ive used...and im happy!

Re: Dr Brown's vs Playtex
I was using the Playtex drop ins and switched to the wide neck Dr Browns. I went with the wide neck because those nipples were more similar to the playtes nipples. I don't really see a huge difference in Hayley gas

Re: Dr Brown's vs Playtex
We use Dr. Browns. The drop in were a PITA and they didn't seem to help at all. I exchanged my ventaires since Dr. Browns were working.

Re: Dr Brown's vs Playtex
I honestly couldn't stand the drop-ins. I thought they were annoying and they didn't seem to help the gas at all. The Dr. Brown's made a huge difference with Christopher's gas and while they're a little more annoying to clean, it's worth it.

Re: Dr Brown's vs Playtex
I just loved the Dr. Browns - maybe Angela wouldn't have had gas anyway, but she never had one problem at all and I used the Dr. Browns until she was almost a year old. There are a few more parts to clean, but it truly is no big deal.
