dr. jurack at southbay obgyn and a another ?

i just made an appt w/her....anyone have any feedback? it will be my 1st appt. and i'll be around 10.5 weeks!! i couldn't get into to that practice any sooner...Im keeping the appt but may try to see if i can get in somewhere else sooner...i don't know if i should wait to see her or go somewhere else so that i can get in sooner? any advice?? :)

and for those of you who have seen her how long was your first appt w/her? will i be out of there w/in an hour?? thanks!

I haven't gone to see her yet. I've had appointments with Dr. Ammirata and will have one on Wed. with Dr. Judge. They recommend that you make your way around to see all the doctors eventually just so you are familiar with them because you won't know who will be on call when you are ready to deliver. I'd say keep her, and if you don't like her, try someone else. I overall really like that office and haven't had any issues with them. HTH

that's my practice and she's awesome!!!
she's got great beside manner and easy to talk to! i love all the docs there! After the sono, the appt itself shouldn't take more then 15-20 mins if it's your first visit since she will do an internal and most likely a pap.

Dr Jurak is a GREAT dr. both my sister and i went to southbay & liked the Dr's. Unfortunately i cant stand the wait and the fact that the people that answer the phone think they are the Drs. - so i just left the practice.
My sister had complications 2 wees Post pardum (dr jurak delivered her baby)- she ended up gng ot the ER needing immediate surgery- dr jurak took very good care of her. i was my sisters support & she also did a great job at keeping me informed before, during & after my sisters surgery.

I had to see Jurak first also because my doctor was away on vac... All the doctors there are great, I've done my rounds already and seen them all (some more than once due to schedules) the first time is a long wait because its a gyn visit but after that I've never waited longer than 1/2 hour for regular OB appts. The admin staff I could do without but the doctors and nurses are all so good that I just bypass the admin factor. I'll let you know how the delivery goes... good luck

I just had an internal with her last week. She was very nice!..We have seen basically all the doctors there and the only one that DH didnt like was Lester. I loved ALL there bedside manner they are all great!...

Just so you know I didn't have ANY wait problems, but once you get to the end and your making appointments a week in advance there is limited slots open, at 36 weeks we did start waiting an hour for each appointment.

Dr. jurack is my doctor and i absolutely love her! she has great bedside manner, takes her time, is pleasant, and fully explains everything to you. they will suggest you make rounds to all the doctors in the practice after seeing her. Since this is my 2nd pregnancy i am mainly seeing her.
she delivered my first DD and made the delivery great! i find the best appointment time for her is around 3 or 4. some days i have waited an hour and other days i was called in before i could even open a magazine.

I have seen Jurak and haven't had any issues with her. I have seen all the Dr.'s in the practice as unless it's a scheduled delivery chances are the on call Dr. from the practice will deliver you. I like Dr. Judge (which i never though because i have always prefered a female gyno) and dr. Lockhart the best, they are the most personable, but I have not had an issue with any of the Dr.s there.

I doubt you will be out of there in an hour unless you have an early morning or a late evening appt...... they are always running a little behind and if its your first OB appointment they are going to do a sono. I had an 8pm appointment last monday and didn't get out of there until 9:20. the sono tech was running behind and they nneded the sono done before I saw the Dr. so they took someone infront of me for the actual appt.

I am 22 weeks and love all the drs there! I have Dr. Lockhart but when I went to the ER back in January Dr. Jurack met with me there for the first time and I loved her. Although the wait in the evening is sometimes long i have waited 45 min to an hour I have switched and now go first thing in the morning when there arent that many people there.

She is really great,my sister just delivered with her Friday! The doctors are all nice but I find that the wait time at the practice is ridiculous. You will most likely be there for several hours every time you go!
