Dr. Kenigsberg- LI IVF
Hey ladies...
After two fresh cycles and FET that failed, i wanted a second opinion. I went to see Dr. Kenigsberg at LI IVF. Does anyone know him or his practice (Lake Success)? What do you think? What he is suggesting is the COMPLETE opposite of what RS of NY has me doing. I am SOOO confused. I dont know who to listen to....
Would love some input!

I go to lake success. They have gotten me a bfp two out of three cycles. Unfortunately both were chemical m/c's, but for me their care has been excellent. My old re was awful in retrospect.
What are the differences in protocol?

Re: Dr. Kenigsberg- LI IVF
He was very nice and i felt he was very knowledgeable. He explained a lot of things to me that i wasnt really aware of. I am 36 and he said that my eggs were like someone who is 43. He said that its very hard to fix this problem. Also, h e thinks that IVF was too premature and i should i have done a few IUI's instead. He feels less is more. My DH's morphology may be an issue, but he thinks he will know more if i do some IUI's. I was on extremely high meds for both IVF's (450 foll. and 3 menopur).
BUT...how can IUI work if IVF didnt? I am worried that i would waste some time.
I have a 3.5 year old who came extremely quickly and naturally. Ive been trying now for over a year and a half. I want to make the right decision...

I was told Ivf by old re. Insurance made me do 3 more. Li Ivf changed protocol and like I said before it technically worked.
Why did he think Ivf didn't work?
Btw - their office staff is exceptional and make me feel like family. Nurses too.

So funny.... I am in the exact situation, word for word (just left RS, had consult w Keningsberg that was 180 from RS). I thought Keningsberg had valid points and opened my eyes to a few things. I'm sticking w him. My friend had 2 successful pregnancies w him.

Re: Dr. Kenigsberg- LI IVF
I actually have very good insurance which doesn't require IUIs before IVF. I had one unsuccessful IUI and then went right to IVF. I'm just nervous that I'm going backwards. I know I shouldn't think like that. But I really don't get how IUI can work if IVF doesn't.
What made you leave RS?

Re: Dr. Kenigsberg- LI IVF
Three consecutive failed FET's with PGD tested embryos.
I needed a fresh set of eyes to look at my records. DH and I were intrigued by some of the things Keningsberg told us....but we are nervous to trust anyone. We have been TTC for 2.5 years now for #2 (DD id 4.5) and we've been let down so many times. We are going to use him.
That being said, we are also consulting with Dr. Kofinas. We have an appt with him in 2 weeks to go over bloodwork he's been running on me.
Keningsberg actually encouraged us to try for a few months on our own before we jump back into IVF bc I conceived 3 times last year (all MC's). I guess judging by my situation and yours, he has a "less is more" approach, def not RS's.

I went to LI IVF and currently am pregnant with twins. I also have DS from an IVF in 2011. Dr Kenigsburg did my transfer in 2011 and I thought he was great. I think if he is suggesting you try a couple IUI, I would go for it. What benefit would he have in recommending the less expensive treatment unless that is what he thought was best for you? Go with your gut - but Dr Kenigsburg is a very well respected doctor and if you felt good about him, I'd give it a shot.

Can I ask what they are suggesting that is different from RsoNY? Are they changing protocols?

Re: Dr. Kenigsberg- LI IVF
While at RS, I did two fresh cycles and one FET. They had my on a lot of meds. The second fresh gave me more follicles (i was on 450 follisum, 2 menopur, 5 days of clomid and estrogen). RS wants me to do the next fresh cycle the same way. LI IVF wants me to take a break from IVF and do natural IUI. Those are two totally different opinions.
If IVF doesnt work, why would IUI? Am i missing something?
Ugh...why does this have to be so difficult?!?

I was on all of those meds (exact amounts) at RS, minus the clomid. Dr K felt it was too much. That might be part of why he wants you to try a lesser approach. He also told me I could have triggered sooner in all of my cycles, by the way......

I went to his Melville office. He got me pregnant on my first IVF. Loved him & his office staff, especially the nurses!
