Dr. Kreiner or Dr. Hershlag
Which one would you girls recommend?
Do they both accept Empire Gov't plan? I am calling to make an appt. tomorrow.

NSUH does not accept the Empire Gov't plan.
This is their policy. You need to pay out of pocket until you meet your deductible (for me it was $3500) and then the insurance company will send you checks for 80% of all fees after that. I just got a check in the mail the other day. Trust me if they do a consult and HSG test you will probably blow through that oney quick. I did in one cycle. NSUH agrees to accept the 80% that Empire pays after that.
Just make sure you double check this with the receptitionist there.
Six years ago the Empire Plan gave no coverage for infertility at all. A fellow teacher in my school had to pay everything out of pocket for 8 IUI's before she got pregnant. Thankfully, the coverage is now there.

Unlike some of the girls on here...I have had a GREAt experience with Dr. Kreiner.....I am now PG with twins because of him.
The only thing...I have Empire too, bu he went out of network with Empire just to give you the heads up.
I know Dr. Pena I believe takes Empire in his office, he is very nice

I have Empire Gov't insurance and used Long Island IVF. they are considered a center of excellence by the insurance co. and as such, there is no out of pocket - not even co-pays. PS - I am now PG with twins!

Ditto! I also have Empire and was a patient at LIIVF. I currently have a DD that is 4 mos old from cycling with them.
