Dr Maria Saketos?

I am seeking a new RE. I don't like the way North Shore handled things. I am looking for someone that isn't going to push me into taking lots of meds and work with my accupunture. My OBGNY recommended her but, I never heard her name.

I also was wondering if any of you girls go to Cornell or to RMAny? If you do who do you see there?

I go to Cornell. I like it there, but it has a factory feel. I don't mind it, but in case it is something that would bother you. They have great statistics though.

Yup, just confirming that she is with RS of NY. She isn't my primary but I've met with her once or twice. Again, feel free to FM if you have questions about the group as you typically will see all the doctors in the group (depending on who is in and what you are there for).

Dr. Saketos is def with RSofNY and she was/is my primary RE. I absolutely love her!! She's a great doctor and a genuinely great person. You can't go wrong with any of the doctors there. I've seen all of them at one point or another and you can't go wrong!! Dr. Trivax was awesome as well!! The nurses and staff are great too.

Re: Dr Maria Saketos?

She is/was my doctor! I love her!! She is so easy to talk to and really listens to what YOU want to do. We did 3 unsuccessful medicated TI cycles and then moved on to 3 injectible IUI cycles. I just felt that the IUI was not for me since I had so much pain afterwards and that I wanted to back to theTI. She agreed and poof!!! I am 14 weeks along.

I definitely would recommend her! She is very personable and sweet!

Re: Dr Maria Saketos?

Dr. Saketos did my 3 day transfer for my second IVF back in February. I'm 28 weeks pregnant so I definitely have a soft spot for her.

I believe Dr. Saketos works primarily out of RSofNY's Mineola office. I primarily went to the West Islip office.

RSofNY can definitely have a little bit of a factory feel. I very rarely saw my primary doctor. But it's a trade-off - I needed early morning appointments with little waits because I had to get into Manhattan for work so I accepted the "factory" environment. I couldn't sit in a waiting room for 3 hours to see a doctor. The office staff at the West Islip office were the best! They definitely made me feel like a person and not just a number. So that definitely helped.

ITA-Dr Saketos is my primary at RSofNY in Mineola. For the 7 months I've been going there, I have seen her about 5 times. You will see probably every doctor there, but they are all great and you'll be in good hands. Saketos is great, and Trivax is my second favorite!

Great, kind of wanted to go somewhere without a "factory feel" because I have no IF insurance. Do they work with you there? I have been putting off IUIs because of it being Out of pocket.

She's def out of RSofNY in Mineola. She did 2 of my IUIs. She is very nice. My primary doc there is Dr. Trivax who is also very good. Their hours are great and they always seem to squeeze you in for appts that you need.

She did my first retrieval and transfer. I don't know her that well, but I had a great experience with the practice.

Re: Dr Maria Saketos?

She was my doctor and I really like her. I agree with the other poster that sometimes you get that factory feel but like she said I needed the early and quick appointments due to work. I am currently 15 week pregnant thanks to her help.

Dr.Saketos did my first successful IVF ! It resulted in a chemical pregnancy (due to crummy embryos), but she got the job done even with them being sub-par embryos !!
I am a 3x success story of RSOFNY of Stonybrook and though you will see many different RE's there, generally the one you consult with is the the one you can continually schedule future consults with to determine your next course of action...You will ultimately meet with some/all of the other RE's throughout your cycle but I have been happy with all of them Chat Icon
