dress for wedding guest

do you think its ok to wear a beaded dress, cocktail length to a day wedding (at a VERY fancy location however) NOt all over beaded but I have mixed feelings on this and was surprised by what some of my friends said....we are shopping for dresses for close friends wedding...dress in question is very similiar to dress below, only I think it a little longer, dsress in photo seems a little short

I don't care for the dress. The embroidery on the top part looks a little strange to me. I am not sure what it is, but it does not look right. Sorry.

In general I feel like beaded dresses are really for evening events because they catch the candle light differently than daylight and look better then. Out of curiosity what was the consensus about the dress?

well the dress in the photo is definitely different the dress my friend wants is actually much prettier, it's not beaded across the chest more of a ruched silk chiffon fabric, beading along the empire waist and then flatter flowers on the skirt part and a beaded band acrosss the bottom, it's actually a beautifuldress but I wasn't sure about it for a daytime wedding BUT was outnumbered by the fact of the lcoation, it's at a very fancy hotel in NYC....but at noon....I don't know when I think if it like that I think it would be ok....silver, some beading, her dress is strapless as well....but still a cocktail dres, wish I could find a picture!

I think it's fine for a fancy day wedding because it is short. A gown with beading might be a little much.
