Drs office called with my blood results
(FSH, TSH, LH, and prolactin)
Said "everything is fine". Now that sounds like good news to me but what does that mean? What exactly were they looking for and there was nothing "bad" to find?

Re: Drs office called with my blood results
Those tests are to check your hormone levels. TSH tells how your thyroid is functioning. FSH (if checked on CD3) can tell about your ovarian reserve. LH is the hormone that causes ovulation and it goes up right before ovulation takes place. Elevated prolactin levels have a negative effect on fertility and can interfere with FSH production. HTH!

They faxed them over to me. It's honestly just a bunch of #s. Does anyone know how to read them?

I'm VERY familiar with TSH problems, since I've dealt with thyroid problems for the last 8 years. For TTC, they usually like to see your TSH below 3. ETA: TSH "normal" range is anywhere from 0.5 to 5.0.
I can't remember the range for Prolactin, but mine was 32 last cycle, which she said was "pretty far" above the desired range. Hope that helps you some!

prolactin is normal. TSH is high to TTC-I have read it should be below 2 for optimal results.

Thank you for replying!
If this is not optimal then why did my doc say "everything is okay"?
What do the #s even mean???

I'm not sure I understand your question...what do the #'s mean...you have a value and the lab has a "normal range" When TTC your TSH should be below or around 2 from what I have read. Now I'm not sure why your Dr would say that was OK because its not...maybe he is not up on the latest data?

Re: Drs office called with my blood results
I guess I am reading into this too much. Instead of just understanding that there is a desired range, I wanted to know exactly what 4.05 means....I guess I don't need to know!
I know my dr is a good one.....so I am not sure what to do or think....
On the paper it says for non pg females the # should be less than 5 and I am less than 5...but thats not good for TTC?

Welll don't be scared...just find a new Dr and ask them what their desired range for TTC is. The study that found this was completed in 2003 so that would make me a bit nervous.
You got it!
