Drs. Vullo / Ketchum / Sampino - Repost
Does anyone go to any of these doctors in West Islip? If so, which one? I am a big baby when it comes to going to the ob/gyn & just like my annual exam to be an easy, comfortable & quick one.
Currently I go to Dr. Ammirrata in West Islip; I like her, but the practice is HUGE!! I am trying to get pregnant, so I want to find a good practice that will be supportive should that special time arrive in the near future.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!

Re: Drs. Vullo / Ketchum / Sampino - Repost
I started off with Dr Ketcham. I really, really liked him. He was a really nice guy, and I thought he was very compassionate. But then, when I got pregnant, I informed him that APS runs in my family, and wanted to go get a blood test to make sure I didnt have it (it causes miscarriages). He told me to wait until I was 12 weeks. I told him that I dont want to wait that long because if I did have it, then I would miscarry by then, and that I wanted to be proactive (you just have to take heprin shots and then you will have a full term pregnancy). He told me that at that point, he didnt even know if I had a viable pregnancy (it was only confirmed by beta levels and the pregnancy test). I was so upset by this. So I said to him, wouldnt it be smart for me to go for the test, then if I do have it, to take it from there. And hopefully I would have a viable pregnancy. He just made me feel like a complete idiot. I was so angry and upset that I swtiched that day. I called up another dr who sent me for the bloodwork that day, even before I met with them. Hope this helps.

I saw Dr. Ketcham. I liked him a lot. Thought he was down to earth.
I switched b/c I wanted a different practice for my OB.

I'm currently with the woman doctor at that practice. She is very nice, but I'm switching because I prefer to deliver at SB. I've heard that if you are high risk that's not a good practice to be in, but otherwise I haven't heard anything bad.

Just so you know, I did not write this to scare you. I just wanted to let you know. I have heard of other people who loved them. This is just my own personal experience
