Re: Dry paw pads

Well if they hurt YOU it isn't really a problem -- only if they hurt HIM... is he having trouble walking or does he seem tender? Their pads need to be scruffy so they can handle all the elements so unless he is uncomfortable I wouldn't worry about it. Chat Icon

I see your point Kara Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I guess it isnt a problem I just feel bad they are so dry. They are not cracked and he has no problem walking on them... so I guess its nothing to worry about...

Re: Dry paw pads

I bought the pad wax for Molly - I never used it but maybe that would help?

That is so weird you ask this question - cause I just said to DH that Casey's are REALLY rough. I was wondering if there was anything we should be doing.

Re: Dry paw pads

Can you try Bag Balm? I use this on Pyxie when her pads get rough.

You can get it in a drug store. It comes in a little greenish square tin. It was created to "heal" the udders on dairy cows, but it is used for a plethora of other uses too.

I never saw pad wax eitherChat Icon

Re: Dry paw pads

Honestly, I wouldn't put anything on Rudy's paws to soften them. They are hard and rough to protect him. If you soften them you may do more harm than good.
Misty's paws are gross, but I wouldn't do anything to them, she has run over glass without ever cutting herself.
