Dry Shampoo
Hi Guys,
I don't know why but all of a sudden my hair is changing. I used to be able to go a day without washing, and now when I do, it looks really greasy. I wind up just putting it back in a headband to kind of hide it.
I did a search for some dry shampoo's and all I found was Oscar Blandi's. Is this worth it? Will my hair look less greasy?
TIA

Re: Dry Shampoo
you can try it but I know that my hair changed as well and I started using 2 different shampoos. Make sure to look for ones that say clarifying and NOT moisturizing. I also use a lemon shampoo that's excellent. if you have to condition your hair, just condition the hair shaft and ends, NOT the scalp.
HTH!

Re: Dry Shampoo
I use this when i try to get an extra day when my hair is straight (i have pretty dry hair so the less heat I can put on it the better) and I'm not the biggest fan.
It very very white. So when you put it on your scalp its BRIGHT. Takes a while to work it through. Its also scented and while its not offensive or anything, I really dont like it.
Maybe a spray would be better, as I have a regular bottle of it. But honestly, save the $ and use a tiny bit of baby powder!

I agree with this. I do use the Oscar Blandi dry shampoo, but not to skip a a day--just to refresh, or if I used too much conditioner.
As for it making your scalp white, just use a little at a time & brush it through.
I don't put it directly on my scalp-I put it in my hand and work it in from underneath.
I love the smell and I find it works better than baby powder.

Re: Dry Shampoo
I have a dry shampoo that's colored brown. the brand is salon grafix and I got it at rite aid I use it between blow outs and while it isn't the best thing ever, it does help to cut the oil.

Re: Dry Shampoo
bumble and bumble hair powder works great!
also try a small amount of baby powder and rub in - i am able to use that in a bind or for a quick fix.

This is true, but you really shouldn't use a clarifying shampoo every day! its extremely harsh on the hair & can strip it of its natural oils!!! I use a clarifying shampooo once a week. The rest of the week I use a more gentle shampoo. Believe it or not, Tresemee is one of the best ones out there.
You should def be looking for a shampoo that has Sodium Laureth Sulfate opposed to Ammonium Laureth Sulfate which should be listed as the main ingredient. You want to avoid using shampoo with this as the main ingredient regularly because it can actually dry out your hair causing your scalp to over produce natural oils- which in the end can make your hair look even more greasy!!!!!

Re: Dry Shampoo
I'd recommend trying baby powder, it's cheap and I use it every other day. I wash my hair every other day and I use baby powder and it works for me.
I have blondish brown hair and it does look a little white if I use a lot but I"ll just wet my hands with a little water and it helps clean it up.
Good luck!
