DS 1st Birthday Party Review! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme. PICS INSIDE
OK, so last week we had our DS' 1st Birthday party at the Smithtown Elks Lodge in Smithtown. I figured I'd do a little review in case anyone was interested or looking for party info. I know I did when I was planning it We ended up not getting any kiddie entertainment because everything was so much $$$ and we figured we'll splurge when he's old enough to remember it.

The Smithtown Elks Lodge Awesome! I met with Betty from there to go over menu items, pricing, table linen and napkin colors, any special requests.....She was so great to work with! I love that we didn't have to set anything up. I wanted to enjoy DS on his Bday celebration and not have to worry about setting up, decorating, getting food onto sternos, or cleaning. THEY DO EVERYTHING!!!! All I did was drop off the centerpieces/balloon decorations in the morning. They were fabulous! The food was excellent, and they were always bringing pitchers of soda to the tables.

DS' Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake
Fatty Cakes & Bakes- Julie
What can I say about this cake? It was the hit of the party! Absolutely perfect inside & out! Julie was so easy to work with, and we've never even met face to face. She was so quick with her replies through email and was great at learning what we wanted and what we were expecting. I sent her a few pics of cakes that I thought were cute that I found online, and let her creativity go to work! Pics are in my album. It was amazing! We did vanilla cake with cookies & cream filling. Deeeee-lish!
Cookie Favors
A Favor Affair
We worked with Chrissy from A Favor Affair & couldn't be happier. The cookies were not only 100% customized and adorable, but they were delicious! They were so soft and yummy! She went above and beyond to help create the perfect cookie for our party. I loved that it was a scene from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on top of the cookie. Then it was brushed with this shimmery sugar that just made it shine! They were adorable! I would highly recommend working with this woman. She was adamant about getting it right for me and was so easy to talk to. We'll definitlely be using her again! You have to check out her site. Such adorable things that I've never seen anywhere else. Love it!
Centerpieces/Balloons- Party Hardy Nesconset
Eh, everyone knows these kind of stores. I made it clear to the lady helping me that these balloons were going to be centerpieces, so I didn't want them all tied together in a huge bunch. They said "No problem." It was supposed to be separated into groups of 5. One of each color & one Mylar. I get there to pick them up the day of the party and........2 GIGANTIC bunches of balloons all tied & jumbled together. I couldn't fit them in my car & they were popping all over the place. I had to have my dad meet me there to get the rest & drop them off with me. We sat at the Elks Lodge separating each balloon and attaching it to the weights for 40 minutes!. By the time we were done, there were lots of balloons that had popped, and some of the Mylar ones were not filled up all the way. But whatever, not a huge deal. So, my dad gets an A+, and Party Hardy gets a C-. No biggie, just annoying!

Awesome party! Those pics are great - the cake looks amazing (my DD has those figurines, hope your DS loves playing with them too ) and the party room was really nice too!
The cookies are amazing as well... and you look great

How were the bathrooms in that place? (I always check out the bathrooms when looking for a party place)

The bathrooms were fine. I mean, nothing elegant or fancy like in a reception hall, but not bad. Just a regular bathroom. 2 or 3 stalls, baby changing station, few mirrors.

Your son's party looked amazing!! I will I just had my son's party yesterday, same theme, but my experience was not good. I will def. look into Smithtown Elk's Lodge for the next one!

Everything looked great and the cake looked AMAZING!!! I loved it!!! I also love that pic of your DS with his hospital blanket and beanie. What a cute idea!! Wish I thought of that!!!
