DS badly hurt in daycare...very sad. Need info about facial scarring...
So apparently (I say apparently because nobody seemed to see this happen), a boy in my son's class scratched my son yesterday on both sides of his face. When I say "scratched," it is actually several deep long marks that broke the skin and looked horrendous yesterday and not much better today. I called the doctor and I'm supposed to take him in if it gets infected or leaking, but in the meantime, besides neosporin, any suggestions on what I can put on the wounds to help heal them? I am terrified he will have scars on his beautiful little face.

Ask your doctor is you can use Mederma. I used this on my son when he got scratched by his friend and it pretty much disappeared. Hope this helps!

 sorry that happened, I would think let them heal, and when the scabs are gone use mederma.

what i've always used on scars is PURE vitamin E oil (once the 'open wound has closed).
i can usually find it on a bottom shelf in like, Duane Reade or CVS...nothing ELSE in the oil - make sure there are NO other ingredients.
i had spinal surgery and they went in through the front of my neck....i applied the oil RELIGIOUSLY...once it would soak into the skin - i'd re-apply. You cannot see the scar unless you STARE at me for a period of time.
i'm so sorry...

I second vitamin E oil....it's much cheaper if you just buy the vitamins and break open the capsule and put the oil on the scar

I scar very easily and so does my brother and we both use Vit E oil and it works great

YES, Vitamin E oil is the BEST when it comes to scarring. I had third degree burns and the doctors thought I might need skin grafts and I have ZERO scars.
