DS hasn't pooped since Sunday--question about suppository
Last time this happened my dr. said to give him a glycerine suppository, luckily right before I did it, he pooped. But it doesnt seem like he is going to poop this time around but I am nervous. Do I put the whole stick up there or just 1/2?

Re: DS hasn't pooped since Sunday--question about suppository
I used to have to do suppositories for my DD. I cut them in half lengthwise and they worked like a charm. I only had to do it a few times. If you do the suppository....be ready for a lot of poop!!! It was like my DD was in a mud bog when she eventually went. YUCK! The crap leaked everywhere because the diaper couldn't hold it all. I would take the baby's clothes off, just keep in the diaper and put a waterproof lap pad under DC.
Good luck!

I use the Fleet Babylax ones. THey are liquid so you just use it quick during a diaper change.
Good luck, I know this isn't fun.

I agree about using the thermometer with vasoline. That worked great for us. Just hold the tip in for a few seconds and you can usually feel the gas being released and then when you remove it, the poop comes out.
I am not sure about suppositories. I used to use them for myself but never for baby.

Re: DS hasn't pooped since Sunday--question about suppository
Is your DS breast fed? Is he uncomfortable? If he's not uncomfortable, I'd definitely not do a suppository. If he's breast fed, I also wouldn't worry as much.
