DS is 6 wks is it ok to let him fall asleep with the pacifier or do I need to watch him?

We just started using a pacifier yesterday b/c DS sucks on EVERYTHING and I figured it was better to have him suck on something sterilized then ending up with bits of cotton on his face from sucking on his bibs! But, he often falls asleep with the pacifier so now I am thinking it would be a great thing to soothe him to sleep at night but, do i need to be worried about him falling asleep/sleeping with it? Do I need to watch him and take it out when he falls asleep? TIA Chat Icon

I think it's okay and studies say that pacifiers actually reduce the risk of SIDS.
