DSLR moms--two questions

1) What kind of bag do you have? The one I have is getting too small now to add any extra accessories/lenses, etc

2) What setting do you use when its pretty dark (inside or outside)...it seems like my flash doesn't do a great job but I think it has more to do with my settings...Any tips?

TIA! :)

Re: DSLR moms--two questions

If it is dark, you can bump up the ISO

OK, good luck! If you are shooting in auto, you will not be able to change it.

I got a backpack camera bag from amazon. It is just like the canon one, but less expensive and does advertise that there is expensive equipment inside by saying "canon" on it. I have an external flash that I LOVE. You can point it up and behind you to give the illusion of natural light when you are inside. The onboard flash usually gives harsh appearance to your subject. The flash was my favorite camera-related gift.

Something that I did when I was just starting to learn about ISO, aperture, and shutter was to take a pic on auto, see what aperture it chose, then put my camera in aperture priority mode (on the canon it's "AV") and set it to the aperture it chose before and then I could adjust my ISO. It's a good way to "play" without going to full-manual.

Have fun!

Do you mind sharing what flash you got?
